Like Kewpee Hamburgers, Dave Thomas started selling square patties that came out of the bun. After 38 years of business, the restaurant closed due to reduced sales.

Thomas gave the name of his 4th child to the restaurant. Wendy’s successfully signed an agreement to open its outlets in different locations such as Canada, Australia, and a few other states of the United States.

    More Story Ahead

It went further to open its outlets in Asian countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and South Korea. A unique item, BBQ Pulled Pork Cheeseburger, was later added to the menu. Some more items were added to the menu, such as cheese fries with cheddar cheese sauce, pulled pork, onions, and barbeque sauce.

In 2015, Wendy’s entered India with its first outlet in Gurgaon. Some of its outlets in South Florida were taken over by the JAE restaurant group. The restaurant changed its outlook by adding more seats, fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, a digital menu list, and Wi-Fi many outlets were remodeled by the end of 2020.

In 2021, the franchisee of Wendy’s NPC Quality Burgers Inc. went bankrupt. After two years, the restaurant again entered the Australian market to start its business. As per the survey of November 2023, Wendy’s has 7166 outlets all over the globe.
